    Shilin Night Market Grew From a Temple Forecourt

    Before Shilin Night Market spread through the surrounding streets, trade gathered around Cixian Temple and a public market built across from it. Universities, cinemas, road construction, and a 12-year market reconstruction later transformed the district, but the temple forecourt remains one of its historical anchors.
